Midwest Contracting Company provided General Contracting services to construct the Bitty & Beau’s Coffee Shop in Ann Arbor, MI.
Bitty & Beau’s is a nationwide coffee shop that hires people within its community that have disabilities. Not only are they a nationwide coffee shop the are a nationwide movement. Through their coffee shops they advocate for the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the Wrights (owners) have dedicated their lives to making the world a better place for their children and others living with disabilities.
The major aspects of this project included a complete demolition and renovation of a historical building in downtown Ann Arbor on main street. The challenges of working within a 100 year+ old building were met with our expertise and coordination with the owner and architect. The new coffee shop includes all new tile flooring throughout that included a complete new concrete topping and waterproofing membrane, all new walls, ceiling and finishes. New plumbing, HVAC and Electrical. Bitty & Beaus Corporate branding was upheld throughout the project utilizing millwork and carpentry details shown here.
This project was completed ahead of schedule and within the owners budget.
